OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY

The Jackson-Madison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized on June 14, 1901.  Our chapter name honors our City, our County, and two of our noblest heroes, Andrew Jackson and James Madison.

'People We Know'
Jackson DAR members attended state meeting

"The Tennessee Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution held their 101st annual conference in April in Kingsport. Three members of the Jackson Madison chapter attended: Phyllis Little; chapter registrar Jo Ann Birmingham and chapter regent Jackie Utley. Birmingham was a speaker on lineage research. Utley was elected president of the Tennessee State Chapter Regents Club."

"The Jackson Madison chapter was honored with several awards for service and programs during the previous year. The awards include: first place for the number of gold and bronze ROTC medals presented; 2006 certificate for the chapter yearbook; State Regent's Project award for reporting on DAR sites marked by the chapter; first place district award for lineage research; and second place state winner for most workshops/workdays for lineage research. The chapter also received a certificate honoring 105 years of activity."
